Your main task as an artist manager is to guide and promote careers. You negotiate contracts, organise gigs, coordinate the release of music or take care of tour planning. Above all, you are the interface between the artists and the music industry and the contact person for labels, promoters and agencies. With your work, you ensure that visions and goals are turned into reality.

A deep understanding of the music industry, trends and target groups is important for making strategic decisions. Your communication skills enable you to interact successfully with artists, agents, labels and promoters. Your organising and potential leadership skills are important to manage all aspects of artists' careers and coordinate the team.

To work as an artist manager, there are several paths open to you. A degree in music management, business administration or communications can provide you with the necessary knowledge. However, practical experience, for example in labels or agencies, is essential in order to build up a broad network.
